April 2017’s first featured friend has been chosen!

The honor this time goes to Gus!

Congratulations Gus!

Gus is around 3 years old. He is a Chiweenie from the West Coast (USA).

Gus ended up at a shelter in California in the beginning of 2016. In April 2016 he was taken on a long road trip in a big truck up to Oregon with other animals that were given a second chance at finding their forever homes in a new state. Exactly three weeks after he arrived at the shelter in Oregon he underwent a long surgery to fix his broken arm and a new artificial metal elbow joint was created. Lucky for him, he met his foster/forever mom who works at the shelter and she loves him dearly. He now has close to normal use of his arm and has a great life in the pacific NW with his cat brother Ron and 17-year-old beagle-mix "grandpa" Django.

Gus loves having his teeth brushed every night (He loves his dog toothpaste) and really enjoys his dental chews, frozen veggies, and other treats.

BOBS for Dogs

BOBS from Sketchers have a new line that feature dog and cat patterns across them! The sale of these shoes that bare the label BOBS for Dogs benefit the Best Friends Animal Society. They are using the tag line "together we can save them all!"

Below are the pair with a dog theme that I ordered online from Peebles. They seem to be impossible to find in actual stores unless you live in a big city. The pattern shown below is called Pup Smarts and comes in black or taupe.

 Each pair has a tag on the heel of each shoe that says BOBS for Dogs.

A key chain comes attached with the price tag.

The pair of BOBs seen below are a pair I purchased from Peebles in-store while searching for the Dog line. Although they don't have any dog pattern on them they did have the BOBS for Dogs logo on the box and the key chain on them as well. Which makes me think that all of the BOBS shoes are going toward the Best Friend Animal Society.

I am all about having dogs on clothing and in home decor. So why not buy cute shoes that help a good cause?

March 2017’s second featured friend has been chosen! The honor this time goes to Roo!

 

Congratulations Roo!

Roo is a one year old Red Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog From Australia.

Roo was born on the coast of Australia and lives with his mum and dad in Brisbane. He is obsessed with his tennis ball and he loves long walks and chasing birds. He also loves cuddling with his mummy and daddy, as well as going on adventures. He turned one on the 11th of March, and his favorite food is everything. :p

What's new around here?

You may have noticed some changes around A Dogg's Tail, or perhaps you haven't. We'll be giving you all the updates here!

First, let's start with the blog. We have had an uptick in applicants to be featured friends, thus we have increased from one friend a month to 2 friends a month. This averages it out to every two weeks, meaning on the first Friday and the third  Friday new featured friends will be posted.

Second, in addition to featuring friends, we want to start featuring "brands" on the blog. These will include Etsy shops that sell pet items, as well as other businesses and items. If you are an owner of a business that carries anything pet related and are interested in being featured on out blog feel free to contact us.

Third, in case you have been scarce around the web lately, A Dogg's Tail has added an Instagram account to its social media presence. (@ADoggsTail) It will be used for multiple purposes, some of which are promoting blog posts, featured friends, and the Etsy store.

Fourth, to help promote our Etsy store we are thinking about holding a model search on Instagram and adding an affiliate program. All the details are in the process of being sorted out. Also, we are working on figuring out pricing for possible product expansion. We are currently thinking bandanas, bow-ties, and tutus. There is also contemplation on lighter flannel coats for spring and fall. 

Fifth, last but not least, I (Jessica) am hoping for warmer, nicer weather to come back around and stay this time. I want to try to take some more photos of our four staff members to use across all things A Dogg's Tail! Also, I am hoping to get some huge in depth posts put up this year! We have a couple we have been working on for a while.

Blue is an adorable, goofy. Clumsy, obnoxious giant that has a heart of gold! He really enjoys any toy that can stand the jaws of life!
